It’s December 1st, and Union University’s ONE Campus Group was out in flying colors! RED dominated the campus, as the group turned the fountain RED, decorated trees with RED garnish, lined the hallways with RED duck tape, and had RED food in the cafeteria.
Why RED?
Today is World AIDS Day and we asked students to go to ONE.org and sign our petition to ensure that no child is born with HIV by 2015. With smart solutions and proven medicines, this is a realistic goal and we’re excited to join the fight with ONE!
We had a great turnout, getting over 40 new members to our campus ONE group. We also got the local media involved, with WBBJ interviewing us on our efforts to get world leaders to commit the resources to ensure that no child is born with a potential death sentence that can be easily prevented. We now have the tools, the treatment, and the knowledge to prevent mother to child transmission of HIV. Students play a huge role in the fight against AIDS and Union’s ONE Campus group did a great job energizing the student body to get involved.
